Continuing Support Needs in WNC - Will You Help?
Show Up for Families When It Matters Most
At The Birthstone Center for Appalachian Perinatal Resilience, we’re walking alongside families through pregnancy, postpartum, and loss—especially when support feels hardest to find.
Western North Carolina is still deep in recovery from hurricane Helene, and systems have not fully recovered. Many families are struggling to find the support they need.
That's where Birthstone comes in. We offer free, low-cost, and insurance-supported services for expectant parents and families with young children, including:
- Mamamorphosis, our weekly mother’s group,
- A newly expanded loss & bereavement space,
- Classes in breastfeeding, postpartum care, and newborn care, with childbirth education launching soon,
- Medicaid-covered doula care (now accepting Carolina Complete Health, with more to come)
We’re growing to help these families, and we need people who want to be part of that.
We’re currently looking for support with:
- Website, IT, and SEO
- Accounting and financial systems
- Contract drafting and legal review
- Grant writing
- Board members (including remote)
This is how access expands. This is how families don’t fall through the cracks.
If you have skills or time to offer, we’d love to connect at 828-331-1592 or hello@birthstonewellnesscenter.com.
