A new global journalism initiative is drawing attention to the needs of babies and young children during disasters and displacement.

Through the REACH Network, reporters are documenting how crises affect early childhood — including caregiving, nutrition, and health. Stories like this help ensure that policymakers and humanitarian responders understand that infants have urgent and specific needs during emergencies, including safe feeding support.

This resource was recently shared with members of the Children and Disasters Subcommittee of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster Mass Care Committee, where SAFE Infant Feeding Team members have been participating in national conversations about infant and young child feeding in emergencies.
