This training session brought together practitioners and community leaders for an interactive, equity-centered exploration of infant and young child feeding in emergency contexts. Participants explore how communication, coordination, and planning can better support infants and young children during crises, with a focus on identifying gaps and opportunities within existing systems. Our guest speakers Lourdes Santaballa (with Alimentación Segura Infantil [ASI]) and Brandi Harrison (with Birthstone Wellness Center) highlight how cross-sector expertise can inform more responsive and culturally grounded approaches.
Through real-world examples and guided discussion, the session highlights the importance of integrating infant and young child feeding into emergency response efforts while addressing disparities in access to care and support. The session emphasized practical strategies for addressing disparities, building resilient community networks, and translating knowledge into action—equipping attendees with tools and insights they can immediately apply in their own settings.
