Influencing Policies for Better Preparedness

The edited recording for this session isn’t posted yet.
Editing runs about three months behind the live session, and we add each video here as it is finished. If you attended live, you already have the Zoom recording — it is in the email we sent you after the session.
Everything else on this page, and every handout on the homework page, is ready to use now.
To serve families effectively, emergency response needs to be coordinated among various stakeholders, including emergency managers, healthcare coalitions, and community groups. How do you create those relationships, who is responsible for what, and how do you work together?
In this session, Love Anderson and Jodine Chase share details about how to approach other emergency response organizations as well as ways to communicate better and work together. We cover some disaster response concepts, specific questions pertaining to IYCF-E for each role in emergency response, and an example of a system, the Mother-Baby Unit, that can support families with young children during large-scale emergencies.
Session 11 homework
Full instructions, with everything you need for each step, are on the homework page. The handout is the same material as a printable PDF.

Ready to build it in your community?
This is the last session in the series. Everything we know about standing up an infant feeding response is collected in one place, organised by the question you are actually asking: Build It in Your Community. Start wherever your community actually is.

Keep going with us. The SAFE Support and Strategic Core meets quarterly as a free mastermind for people putting IYCF-E into practice — shared problem-solving, peer support, and updates from the team. See the dates and register.
